Rewi Spraggon is the New Zealand chef behind The Māori Kitchen, a restaurant that sells authentic hāngi dishes in central Auckland.
Rewi learnt the traditional craft from his father, who learnt it from HIS father. It is his mission to help people understand the art of Māori kai and how to eat better.
Rewi first appeared at Taste of Auckland presenting the Gourmet Hāngi with top restaurant chefs in 2015 and then again in 2017. This year Rewi and his team are back with their own flavour creations cooked in the traditional hāngi live on the wharf.
